H.E. Jaideep Mazumdar presented Credentials to President Peter M. Christian as the new Ambassador of the Republic of India to the Federated States of Micronesia
On Friday morning of January 12, 2018 President Peter M. Christian received the Letter of Credence of H.E. Jaideep Mazumdar, Ambassador of the Republic of India to the FSM, in an official ceremony held at the President’s new conference room.
During the ceremony, President Christian welcomed Ambassador to the FSM and thanked him for taking his time to visit the FSM to formally present his credentials as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of India to the FSM. Among other issues discussed in the meeting, President Christian indicated the air service, agriculture and capacity building are critical to FSM’s economic development. He also indicated that climate change is still a top priority for FSM.
During his short visit to the FSM, Ambassador Mazumdar also paid courtesy call on the Department heads of Foreign Affairs, Resources and Development, Transportation Communications and Infrastructure, Environment, Climate Change and Emergency Management and Justice.
In attendance of the ceremony were members of the President’s cabinet, staff from the President Office and the Department of Foreign Affairs.
