On January 28, 2017 at 12:30 PM, the FSM Secretary of the Department of Transportation, Communications & Infrastructure, The Honorable Lukner Weilbacher, and the Nauru Government’s Minister for Nauru Air Corporation, The Honorable David Adeang, signed amendment no. 2 to the Civil Air Transport Agreement between the two Governments.
The amendment authorizes Nauru Airlines under the agreement to extend its service beyond Pohnpei State in the FSM, with an intended final destination of Guam, U.S.A. Commencement of this additional service is anticipated during March, 2017, pending final approval from appropriate U.S. Government transportation security, and border protection agencies.
The additional route would be a continuation of the airlines’ service which currently terminates in Pohnpei and will see the flight now terminating in Guam on Fridays at around 2 pm, and originating out of Guam for the return through the FSM on Sundays at around 1:00 am.
Witnesses from Nauru Air Corporation include Mr. Vodrick Detsiogo, Assistant Minister, Nauru Air Corporation, Mr. Kevin Power, Chairman, Mr. Goeff Bowmaker, Chief Executive Officer and Ms. Wendy Bowden, Chief Financial Officer.
Witnesses representing the FSM National Government include the Honorable Joses Gallen, Secretary, Department of Justice, Honorable Lorin Robert, Secretary, Department of Foreign Affairs, Honorable Marion Henry, Secretary, Department of Resources & Development and Mr. Leo A. Falcam Jr., Chief of Staff, Office of the President.
